It is also one of the totem animals for many Indigenous, as well as Dreaming in many sites. Namarnkol is even told in stories to be kept as pets of the Yawk Yawk spirits. Traditionally, Bininj used to spear them at billabongs, rivers and floodwaters. Today the locals go fishing with lines and modern nets, yet sometimes with spears, and they know the
